Review: Sisters and Secrets

Sisters and Secrets Sisters and Secrets by Jennifer Ryan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Having three sisters myself I am familiar with how sisters and secrets can destroy a family once the secrets are uncovered. The common factor is one sibling seeking or concentrating on one's own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others. Can Sierra find a place free of memories that haunt her? Is there any place on earth to find a place where no one hurts you or your loved ones? Sad that those we think who would never hurt us...family...friends are the ones you have hurt us time and again...and forgiving can take a long time is coming...

"Just looking at you makes me sick" Sierra to her sister

Review: Thomas Wildus and The Book of Sorrows

Thomas Wildus and The Book of Sorrows Thomas Wildus and The Book of Sorrows by J.M. Bergen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Magic is real. At least that is what young Thomas Wildus's father has told him to believe before he went missing. Thomas has been having some strange occurrences happening to him. First he makes friends with an odd elderly fellow who owns a really cool old book store where Thomas is lent a book on magic in exchange for some work around the book store. That is when things really start gathering steam into the bulk of why Thomas needs to learn quickly his magical powers and save the world. I thought the story was great, the characters complimented each other and the door is wide open for the next installment of a great story of where friends and family are what matter most in life.

Review: Ain't No Messiah

Ain't No Messiah Ain't No Messiah by Mark Tullius
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When I first got the kindle version of this from Goodreads I had a hard time getting into the book but since I agreed to give a review for my free copy I finished the book. I am so glad I did pick the book up and finish reading the novel. The ending had me laugh out load...but in between the pages after I got over the emotional and physical abuse of Joshua by his father, the story took on another life. One in which Joshua moves away from his abusive family and makes a new one only to be enticed back into the Church his father built upon Joshua being the New Messiah.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nine Lives

The second book about young witch Lily Paris who has a knack for landing in the frying pan time after time. Enjoyed the history that revolves around the different place and time she resides in before having to move on to another place in the world where no one knows she is a witch that must be killed.

Review: Sword for Hire

Sword for Hire Sword for Hire by Griff Hosker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you love the tales of Robin Hood or the Three Musketeers then you should find and read this book. This book is similar to the tale of Robin Hood where a young man returns from the Crusade only to find that all his families properties have been stolen by the evil sheriff and his equally evil stand in for the King who is still on the crusade. With nothing but his word he finds in his travels several other honorable men who join him as mercenaries for hire. So when he amasses enough funds he will return to reclaim his birthright. Was thoroughly entertaining and I look forward to the reading more of his adventures in the next book.
